Good afternoon and happy Monday!
According to a study by PwC, younger audiences learn how to use voice assistants much faster than older audiences; but young people aren’t using them. Sadly, there’s a fear of using voice assistants like Siri or Google Assistant in public and looking weird or being judged. Common privacy issues seem to be even more relevant (thanks Facebook) when using voice assistants. Even in my case, at home I have a Jibo and Alexa but I barely use them. To me, there’s no point. And even if I use Siri when I’m out it never really works the way I expect it too. So maybe some great invention will pop-up and make us young people love voice assistants! As for now older folks have this market.
So as of late 2017 into early 2018 we have seen a 3% jump in wages in the private sector and that’s all across North America! And even lower class workers are seeing quicker raises and increases in earnings! For women in the low-wage sector, they have seen a jump around 4.6% from last year. The weird thing is that the middle class has remained the same; no real changes. Can it be that the industries the middle class works in (health and education) just haven’t caught up yet? Or is it just a blip? Hopefully, this can be turned around and help us get into better financial times. Fingers crossed!
Could this be the fall of Tesla? Possibly, according to Bloomberg News, Tesla is burning an average of $6,500 a minute. This burn rate hasn’t been this bad in 15-years! The company is a great innovator for clean energy, cars and business, but longer term debt and slow production, has put a bad light on the company. Customers are buying cars and cannot take personal possesion of the cars because of slow production. Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, has made a lot of business choices but who knows if the choices he has made will be worth it in the end.

A couple years back, both companies tried to merge but were quickly shut down. The Department of Justice wouldn’t agree then and probably not now. Yet here T=Mobile and Sprint are again and are in ways going against the D.O.J. They are trying to say that it’ll help lower prices, help consumers and be a greater competitor. No matter how they spin it, the battle with regulators would be harsh. No telling if this merge will still happen or what outcomes will come forth. We will just have to wait and see!
Thanks for reading and stay dry Boston!
